Touch Of Culture

C ultural diversity was one of the most expanding aspects USO. Students continued to travel from all over the globe to attend college here, contributing to USO's in– creased international flavor. This diversity was perhaps most prominent when looked at from the perspective of Student Clubs and Organizations. The Aikane 'O Hawaii Club continued to be one of the most popular international clubs this year. This organization spon– sored several events including a special commencement in memory of the Pearl Harbor bombings of 1941. The Aikane 'O Hawaii Club strived to pro– mote Hawaiian culture, yet en-

The International Student Or– ganization helped foreign stu– dents to become familiar with USD and the San Diego com– munity in general. Social and recreational activities were or– ganized to aid students in be– coming involved on campus and to make new friends. This organization welcomed all stu– dents from USD in an effort to enhance its international sta– tus.
