Northern Ireland v Netherlands

Following in the footsteps of international colleague and fellow centre back Julie Nelson, Ashley achieved the feat in September when the Senior Women drew 2-2 against Wales in a Euro qualifier. Her achievement was marked at Seaview on Tuesday night when Ashley earned her 102nd cap against Wales in the reverse fixture, which ended 0-0. Irish FA President David Martin presented the defender with a special UEFA medal. And Ashley is the President’s guest at tonight’s match against Netherlands when she will receive a specially commissioned cap from the association to mark her achievement. The 32-year-old is only the fifth player to reach a century of caps for Northern Ireland after Pat Jennings, Aaron Hughes, Steven Davis and Julie Nelson. Words Nigel Tilson Linfield Ladies defender Ashley Hutton has become Northern Ireland’s second female centurion. FEMALE CENTURION RECEIVES SPECIAL RECOGNITION
