Sport continues to flourish at Newcastle NS, with even more exciting achievements adding to what has already been a memorable year for the school community. In addition to the girls’ football team’s unforgettable experience at Croke Park, both the boys’ football team and boys’ hurling team have also enjoyed outstanding success in this year’s Cumann na mBunscol competitions. After a series of impressive performances, both teams have now reached their respective Cumann na mBunscol finals and will contest the finals later this month. Excitement is building throughout the school community as pupils, staff and families prepare to support the teams on these important occasions. Further sporting success came through the school’s girls’ camogie team, who have also enjoyed an excellent campaign and progressed to the semi-final stages of their competition. These achievements are a wonderful reflection of the dedication, teamwork and sporting spirit shown by all pupils and coaches involved. Music has continued to flourish throughout the school year,

selected to participate in the Allianz Rewards Pitch Day at Croke Park — an unforgettable opportunity for the young players. On Wednesday, 15 April, the girls had the incredible honour of playing in Ireland’s most iconic sporting stadium, competing against Sisters of Charity, Clonmel and Convent Primary School, Mallow. The team represented their school with tremendous pride, displaying excellent skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day. It was a memorable occasion for players, teachers, families and supporters alike and a fitting reward for the girls’ hard work and teamwork throughout the year.
