Athenry Primary School We’ve been very busy in Athenry Primary School over the past few months. Although our first term was very busy we were ready for more exciting events in 2026. The New Year opened with a bang when Athenry Camogie Club won the All-Ireland Championship. There was great excitement in the school in January when the All Ireland winning camogie team visited our school. Our own teacher Mrs. Darelle Burke was part of the team and we celebrated her great achievement with a parry on her return to school. The win was extra exciting for our school as we were well represented on the team with past pupils, mothers of pupils in the school and current staff members. There was great excitement in the school when the Athenry All-Ireland winning team came to the Primary School with their collection of cups. We welcomed back our Club All-Ireland Medal winner Mrs. Burke to the school with a big celebration .

St. Bridget’s Day

The children had great fun learning about St.Bridget and making St. Bridget’s Day Crosses.
