Response to increasing demand With the development of the ROEX Extruder, Rosendahl has responded to the increasing demand for energy savings and higher final product quality. The ROEX was developed in 2006, immediately offering significant advantages over classical extruder technologies on the market. Many customers are successfully running more than 1,000 ROEX Extruders in the field. This confirms that this important development was the right step to take to bring more added value to the cable manufacturer.

Advantages of the ROEX Extruder include energy savings and reduced power consumption; higher and counter-pressure independent output; and higher linearity over the whole operating range. Low power consumption is becoming increasingly important all over the world. Many old extruders are refurbished even though their energy costs remain high. The main energy demand is from the extruder drive. The CMG (compact motor gearbox) is the latest extruder drive technology. Within the housing of the CMG, there are four motors symmetrically placed around one planetary gear. This positioning enables very uniform load transmission. ROEX Extruders are equipped with a specially designed water-cooled feeding section. Together with the appropriate screw, this design imparts a conveying extruder characteristic. Compared to conventional extruders, the influence of counter-pressure fluctuations is reduced to a minimum. The result is a consistently high quality final product and a significantly higher output. In addition to its higher output and insignificant melt pressure fluctuations, ROEX extruders have the significant advantage of high linearity of output over the entire range of operation. Both the extruder CMG and the feeding section are water-cooled. This system avoids contamination in these water channels. The chilled plant water is connected to the plate heat exchanger. There is no contact between the plant water and the coolant in the separate cooling system • Simple integration in existing extrusion lines for upgrade ROEX Extruders are equipped with a PLC with two integration methods: with total integration in existing line control via fieldbus (Profibus, Profinet, etc) and with integration as a stand-alone version with touch panel and hardware interface RosendahlNextrom GmbH – Austria Website : www.rosendahlnextrom.com Further features include: • Independent water-cooling system for feeding section and CMG
