EBM level 1..................................................................................289-296 Summary : This paper presents a randomized double-blind clinical trial of 120 postintubation tracheal stenosis patients. It compares long-term, low-dose prednisolone versus placebo for patients requiring repeated bronchial dilation with primary outcomes: days between bronchoscopy, number of patients ultimately requiring airway resection, and length of resected airway. Results showed trends towards significance for the first two outcomes, and statistically significant difference in length of resected airway favoring steroid treatment.
