Tom Hanks' latest aviation-themed role sees him guiding a disabled US Airways jet into the Hudson River as real-life Captain Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger. The story made headlines in 2009, when Sully successfully achieved a “water landing” after a bird strike destroyed both engines at low altitude. The 155 people onboard emerged unscathed and Sully was declared a hero. Director Clint Eastwood’s film delves into the investigation that followed the incident, where Sully’s actions are called into question.

A trio of teenaged thieves (Jane Levy, Dylan Minette and Daniel Zovatto) break into the home of a blind Gulf War veteran (Stephen Lang) to relieve him of a six- figure payout. But this seemingly soft target is far from helpless and the intruders soon find themselves trapped and pursued through his dark and decrepit dwelling. The second feature from director Fede Alvarez (following his respectable remake of Evil Dead ) offers a neat reversal on the 'blind victim stalked by psychopath' scenario from Wait Until Dark and Blind Terror , mixed with a liberal

Eastwood presents a straightforward version of the story that’s solely concerned with the facts. Moreover, Sully celebrates its eponymous hero and the “Miracle on the Hudson” without the descent into sentiment that tends to clog inspiring true stories. SH

dose of Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs . If you can ignore the obvious implausibility of a sightless antagonist, this relentless game of cat and mouse delivers a nail-biting exercise in sustained suspense. It also features a gross-out moment that'll become a major talking point. SH

Keep out of reach of children SAUSAGE PARTY

We're back, sweetie ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS: THE MOVIE

Release Date: 07/12/16

Release Date: 07/12/16

With so many animated movies out there, it's surprising that none have featured anthropomorphic food – until now. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill have beaten Pixar, Dreamworks, et al to the punchline with this gleefully lewd, crude and clever spoof that exposes the secret life of grocery items. It's also a love story between a sausage (voiced by Rogen) and a bun (Kristen Wiig), who learn that being purchased doesn't lead to a life of bliss in the "Great Beyond" – it means being devoured! Packed with more sexual innuendo than the Carry On

Sweetie! Darling! Sweetie! Darling! Sweetie! Darling! OK, we promise we won’t use either of those words again in this review, swee- DAMN! Anyway, those doyennes of everything absolute and fabulous, Edina (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley), have hit their sixties, and needless to say they’re not taking it gracefully. Hey, why change now?! Anyway, while Pats gets busy with Botox, Eddy needs to save her sinking PR company. Erm, speaking of sinking, could Kate Moss be the answer? Ab Fab ’s transition from

series and a jaw-dropping, er, climax featuring fornicating foodstuffs, this is definitely not for kids. But beneath all the profanity lurks some genius social commentary, making Sausage Party a real banger and the funniest film of this type since Team America . SH

little screen to really bloody big one sees all of the original main cast returning. Add to that a suitably daft story and a raft of cameos that must have blown the Stoli-Bolli budget sky high, and this is a suitably fabulous love letter for the show’s many fans. AF
