San Diego's sixth in school hi story and the fifth in six years. The tournament seeded USO against #25 ranked UC Santa Barbara in first round action in the Pyramid at Long Beach. It was the first meeting between the two teams in 200 1 and it proved to be one to remember. The Toreros would start the game with no conviction, dropping games one and two 30-26.
