comes to USD after a stellar playing career and more recen tly as the Head Volleyball Coach at Cuyamaca Junior College in 1999 and 2000. In 1992, as an opposite or right side pl ayer at

Long Beach State, Hilliard was named the NCAA Player of the Year lead ing hi s team to a 31 -1 record. Hilliard earned All-American honors fo ur times in hi s co ll ege career and was a three time selection as a First-Team NCAA All– American. In 1991 Hill iard propelled the 49ers to a National Championship, beat– ing USC in Honolulu, avenging a champi onship match loss to USC the year before. In 1992 Hilli ard was se lected to pl ay for the U.S.A. in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. Hilliard he lped the U.S.A. defeat Cuba, earning him and the U.S.A. a Bronze medal. He also won a silver medal in the 1993 Pan American Games. Hilli ard continued hi s vo lleyball career as a professional in Europe from

1995-1998, playing two seasons in Belgium and one season in the Netherlands. In 1996, Hilliard and the Maasiek Volley– ba ll c lu b from Belgium won the country 's champi onsh ip and competed in the European Champions League.

Tammy Leib! enters her fourth season as an as– sistant coach at USD, serving as the team 's top assistant in 1998 and 1999. Leib! brings vast international play ing expe–

rience to the Torero staff after competing in three Olympics (1988, 1992 , &

1996) and more than 400 international matches for USA Volleyball. A member of the US 1992 Bronze– Medal-Winning Team in Barcelona, Leib! first joined the US Nati onal Team in 1987. Another highlight of her distinguished international career inc luded a bronze medal won at the 1990 World Championships.

Leib! played collegiate volleyball at Arizona State University from 1983-86 where she ranks in the top five in multiple career offensive and defen sive catego– ries . After two All-PAC-Ten seasons at ASU, Lei bl earned All-America honors in 1985-86. Following her Sun Devil career, Leib! was selected PAC-Ten Player of the Decade. In addition to her stellar collegiate and international career, Leib I played pro– fessiona ll y for three years in Italy and Brazil. Tammy is married to Geoffrey Leib!, a USD grad uate and immigration attorney, the two reside in Del Mar, Cali–

fornia with their two sons, Tyler and Noah. As aplayer, Leibl represented the U.S.A in three straight Olympics '88, '92 & '96
