lessons I learned during nearly three decades of public service is that goals are best achieved through effective communica tion, collaboration, and shared purpose and I would bring these principles with me as Section Representative. With those tenets in mind, I started this campaign intend ing to build meaningful connections with the chapters within Section IV. Becoming a member of these chapters and attending so many of their events over the past three years, led me to so many amazing people. I am humbled to share that the relation ships formed resulted in official endorsements from the Execu tive Boards of the following chapters: Ohio, New York/Eastern Canada, Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania. If I earn this position, I hope to lend my assistance to the current board by supporting their existing programs while helping to develop new initiatives that engage our members, especially our retirees. It is important to prioritize them to keep retiree membership numbers high. I will also focus on enhancing the overall member experience by finding new member benefits and identifying increased revenue streams which will both help maintain reasonable dues. Most importantly, my priority will be simple in theory but it will be time intensive … I WILL REPRESENT YOU! I will be at your events and I will be known and accessible to Section IV mem bers. If you have concerns at the national level or your chapter needs help, I want you to know who I am and know I will answer when called upon. I will also work with National to bring their initiatives back to the chapters. I would be honored to be chosen as your Section IV Repre sentative, and I humbly request your vote. Visit my website at vote4brian.net for more information or call/text at 412-726-4223. Finally, I call upon everyone to support Section IV and the New York/Eastern Canada Chapter by coming to Niagara Falls this summer at what is sure to be a terrific conference.

BRIAN McKEOWN Greetings fellow association members, My name is Brian McKeown and I am honored to introduce myself as a candidate to become your Section IV Representative this summer at the Training Conference in Niagara Falls. If the title of this piece – “Meet The Candidate” – is to be accurate, I should start with what is most important, which is being a husband and father. First and foremost, before I am a cop or an “NA guy”, I am a husband to Lyndsay and a father to 8-year-old Killian and 4-year-old Cullen. It is only through their support and encouragement that I am able to commit to this. They understand the time commitment involved and they are so very supportive. Since graduating from Session 264 of the FBI National Academy in 2016, I have felt a strong calling to give back to an organization that has had a profound impact on both my profes sional development and my personal growth. I wasted no time as I began this journey with my election to the Western Pennsyl vania Chapter Executive Board as Vice President in 2019. I have been proudly serving my chapter since then and I am presently the Chapter President. After years of experience serving my chapter and years of attendance at the national conferences, I became intrigued at the thought of contributing on a larger scale. It was important to me to give back to an organization (and its members) that meant so much to me. So I joined the national training committee which helps to choose speakers for the National Conference and was also honored to be chosen as the Sergeant-At-Arms for the Na tional Conference in Cleveland. These experiences, along with the joy of meeting so many great people in Section IV and beyond, reinforced my desire to serve and so I set out on this path. Just as my family has supported me, my employer too has committed to supporting me as they understand the value of col laboration and making the world just a little bit smaller through relationships and communication. I have dedicated nearly 28 years to the Castle Shannon Po lice Department including 11 years in supervisory roles—first as sergeant and currently as lieutenant. One of the most important
