ANNUAL REPORT Fire & EMS Department

The department had a record-breaking year for call volume in FY2018. The department had a total of over 600 calls and we are expecting the trend to continue. Rescue calls continue to be the majority of our respons es. We experienced an increase in structure fires and mutual aid calls to our surrounding towns. New members have joined the department but unfortunately, some members have left. We wish them the best in their future endeavors and thank them for their service to the community. The department responded to the following incidents: Vehicle Accident 68 Fire/ Smoke Alarm 32 Assist Law Enforcement 6 Public Assist 32 Gas Leak /Fuel Spill 5 Rescue/ EMS 435 Mutual Aid 16 Outside Fire 10 Structure Fire 8 Vehicle Fire 6 Pt. Transported 237 Pt. Evaluated 405 Total Incidents 618 Total Personnel Hours 3051 The total training hours for the department was 1967 hours, with an additional 470 hours devoted to meetings and other department activities. There was an additional 6821 hours volunteered by our dedicated individuals. Recruiting new members is still a priority for the department. We have seen a decrease in members over the last year and we currently have a total of 38 members. In the upcoming year, the department will be looking at all avenues to increase our membership to enable us to maintain the quality of services we provide to the residents of New Gloucester. A special emphasis will be made toward for Rescue members. Again I would like to thank all of you for the support you have shown the department this past year. Through the continued hard work and dedication of our members we will continue to provide exceptional emergency services to the residents and visitors of New Gloucester.
