ANNUAL REPORT New Gloucester Water District

During the last year, the Water District has continued to focus on efforts to maintain reliable, cost-effective service for our customers. We have continued to work with Auburn Water District for all of our operations and maintenance which has proven to be a great partnership. Multiple new service connections were installed during the past year including a new residence and a new service at the Fairgrounds. The District’s source water testing has been completed in accordance with State requirements and all tests have returned passing results. Copies of our annual Consumer Confidence Reports which detail the test results can be downloaded from the Town’s website. This year the trustees participated in meetings that were facilitated by Maine Rural Water Association, Maine Drinking Water Program, and Maine DEP intended to identify and assist with the unique issues that small water systems face. Positive outcomes are already being realized from these meetings. One example is the adjustment of annual audit requirements to levels more suitable to small systems like ours. New Gloucester Water District thanks its customers and the Town for their continued support. We welcome any feedback or input on how we can best provide service to you.
