100 % organic silk

Silk spun by the domestic silkmoth (Bombyx Mori) from the leaves of the mulberry tree is an ancient and valuable natural material. Its composition is very similar to that of human skin, and its therapeutic properties have helped people with allergies and arthritis. Silk is a good insulator, which means that it keeps you warm in cool weather, and cool in warm weather. Like wool, silk is breath- able, and it absorbs moisture without feeling wet. Its smooth surface structure means that it is suitable even for those with very sensitive skin. In recent decades, the mass production of silk has become more common and impoverished the soil and weakened the quality of larvae. The GOTS-certified silk that we use comes from a farm in central China, which uses production

methods that are thousands of years old. The mulberry leaves used to feed the larvae are grown without using any substances that are harmful to the environment and avoid- ing the monoculture that would impoverish the natural diversity in the area. In addition, the manual farming method provides the area’s inhabitants with work that is carried out in humane conditions. The entire process complies with principles that support the wellbeing of people and the environment. Silk production by the silk moths is one of the great natural wonders. The cocoon of a silkmoth grown in optimal conditions can contain up to 1,500m of high-quality single- thread filament silk, and it is precisely this material that we use to make our organic silk clothing.
