Laura Johnson, a two-time NCAA All-America setter at Ohio State, will begin her second season as a volunteer assistant on San ° Diego's coaching staff. At Ohio State University, Johnson was a four-year scholar-athlete on the women's volleyball team.She helped the Buckeyes to a pair of Big Ten Conference Championships and two NCAA Final Four appearances. Individually, Laura was a two-time All-America selection, Division I "National Player of the Year", Honda Award Winner and Ohio State Hall of Fame Inductee. Johnson is currently a graduate student in the Masters of Counsel– ing Program at the University of San Diego. Her emphasis is Col– lege Student Services but her passion is working with student– athletes. She is scheduled to complete her post-graduate degree in May of 2004. After achieving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at Ohio State in 1994, she continued to pursue volleyball professionally as a member of the USA National team. Laura represented the U.S. in major competitions worldwide from 1996-2000 and was an alternate selection for the 2000 Olympic games. Laura is married to USD' s women's associate head basketball coach Erik Johnson. They are proud parents of newborn daughter Daly Kathryn.

Tammy Leib! is now in her fifth season as an assistant coach at USD, serving as the team's top assistant in 1998 and 1999. Leib! brings vast international playing experience to the Torero staff after competing in three Olympics (1988, 1992, & 1996) and more than 400 international matches for USA Volleyball. A member of the US 1992 Bronze-Medal-Winning Team in Barcelona, Leib! first joined the US National Team in 1987. Another highlight of her distin– guished international career included a bronze medal won at the 1990 World Championships. Leib! played collegiate volleyball at Arizona State University from 1983-86 where she ranks in the top five in multiple career offensive and defensive categories. After two All-PAC-Ten seasons at ASU, Leib! earned All-America honors in 1985-86. Following her Sun Devil career, Leib! was selected PAC-Ten Player of the Decade. In addition to her stellar collegiate and international career, Leib! played professionally for three years in Italy and Brazil. Tammy is married to Geoffrey Leib!, a USO graduate and immigration attor– ney. The two reside in Del Mar, California with their two sons, Tyler and Noah.

Leib! represented the U. S. in three Olympics (1988, 1992 & 1996).
