Privacy 1. You will not take / use digital photographs, videos or audio recordings of people without their expressed consent. This includes recording of teacher lessons. 2. You will not distribute, share, or publish digital images, video or audio recordings of people by any means including email, social media, social networks or websites without their permission. 3. Email, online chatting and postings on social media sites are not guaranteed to be private. You understand that messages relating to, or in the support of, illegal or inappropriate activities will be reported to the school’s administration. You understand that actions that occur outside of the school’s network can still have consequences as outlined in this document, the Havergal College Code of Conduct, and / or the Harassment Policy. 4. You understand that all communications and information accessed through and stored on the school’s network and cloud based facilities are not considered private and may be accessed by a school administrator at any time. Behaviour 1. You will follow the Havergal College Code of Conduct, Harassment Policy and School Rules. 2. You will respect device-free times and zones within the school as outlined in student agendas and only use a device in class or in meetings when permitted and directed by the teacher for the purpose of learning. Device-free zones, washrooms and change rooms are spaces where device usage is forbidden or time restricted. If found to be using a mobile device in a manner that is deemed to have negative impacts on the learning environment (distracting the user, teacher or students in the class), you understand that you may have the device confiscated by the teacher for a period of time decided by a teacher or administrator. 3. You are responsible and will care for, and secure, your own personal electronic devices. 4. You will bring your own device to school and make sure it is charged for classes that require the use of technology (Grade 7 to 12 students only). 5. You are personally responsible for the content you publish on social media sites, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, blogs, wikis and other social networking websites. 6. You will not initiate contact or connect with faculty, staff or other representatives of the Havergal Community for purposes outside of those directly connected to the school. 7. You will remember that at all times you are an ambassador of Havergal College and all your online discussions and activities reflect this.
