Learning Support Specialists Our Junior and Upper School Learning Support Specialists develop student-specific educational plans that help them achieve academic success in the classroom. They also help students develop essential executive functioning skills like time management, task initiation and perseverance that serve students in the classroom and beyond. Learning Support Specialists play an important supporting role by encouraging students to become advocates for their own learning needs. Learning Support teachers help our students at every grade to get to know themselves socially, emotionally and intellectually. Not only do they work directly with students, but they also act as liaisons with faculty, Boarding staff, Wellness staff, Administrators and, where appropriate, external agencies. Final Summative Evaluations & Final Exams (Grades 7–12) Final evaluations are scheduled during the last weeks of classes and during the Examination Period that follows regularly scheduled classes. Final evaluations provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their comprehensive understanding of the overall expectations for each course. Final evaluations may, or may not, take the form of a written final exam. Final exams are written at the beginning of June. The exam schedule is usually published by mid-April. All students are required to sit their respective final assessments when scheduled; however, some students will experience conflicts in their exam schedule. An exam conflict occurs when a student has: 1. two or more exams scheduled at the same time; 2. more than two exams scheduled on the same day; 3. four or more exams scheduled on two consecutive weekdays; 4. two or more exams scheduled on the same day for a student who has a documented learning support and / or guidance assessment accommodation; 5. a school-sanctioned athletic tournament or a provincial, national or international competition; or 6. a documented extenuating circumstance.

Please note that ALL examination conflicts must be resolved in writing by the VP, School Life & Student Wellness two weeks before examinations begin.
