On the cable side, the AWG 28 ribbon cable is connected with a 1/20-inch (1.27mm) pitch. Together with the ribbon cable from Würth Elektronik eiSos, the plug connector is designed for operating temperatures of -25 to 105°C. Further technical features include a rated current of 1.0A per pin (cable), an operating voltage of 100V, isolation resistance >1,000MΩ, voltage stability 500Vac/ min and a contact resistance of max. 10mΩ.

Würth Elektronik eiSos currently offers the REDFIT IDC in nine variants between four and twenty pins. Its halogen-free LCP housing is heat resistant, dimensionally stable, even under demanding environmental conditions, and is characterized by high chemical resistance. The contact material, a copper alloy, is gold-plated on the SKEDD side and tin-plated on the insulation displacement connector. The SKEDD contacts on the dual row plug connector are offset with

When it comes to communication channel designs, the customer has the option to change the signal paths using the IDC wiring orientation; keeping the board constant. In case of service: Replacement is just as quick as assembly, because only the plug connector and not the entire PCB has to be replaced. The SKEDD contacts are specified for at least ten insertion/extraction cycles.
