The inductance value currently available is 47 uH in a 1210-inch size (3.2 × 2.5 mm) surface mount package size. The inductor also features a very wide -55 to 125 °C maximum environmental temperature range capability, making it eminently suitable and very robust for automotive circuits. The LQW32FT series will be expanded to support further high-speed signal transmission applications as needed in this emerging market. Mass production began in November 2017.

system can provide full power wireless charging without complicated thermal management, often achieving charging rates equivalent to wired charging. The XMC based 2.5 W low-power solution from Infineon is the industry’s lowest cost resonant wireless charger. It supports both one-to-one and multi-device charging on a single transmitter. By using a higher frequency, very small coils can be employed in a variety of form factors, with no regard to nearby metallic objects. These benefits make the technology ideal for charging wearables, headphones, smart clothing and other connected IoT applications.

Murata introduces power line inductor for automotive high-speed PoC interface applications Hoofddorp, The Netherlands: Murata has introduced the LQW32FT series of inductors for use in automotive Power Over Coax (PoC) circuits. The inductors maintain stable operation, save on PCB space and reduce component count and weight. PoC is increasingly used with SERializer/DESerializer (SerDes) equipment in automotive applications in order to reduce weight by deploying a single coax cable to transfer power and image data to and from an onboard camera. In previous PoC implementations, several large and small impedance inductors were needed to handle the broadband signal at the circuit processor and to maintain high impedance over a wide bandwidth to separate the signal and power. Murata’s LQW32FT series allows a single inductor to replace the multiple components that were previously necessary. This supports efforts to save space and reduce the overall size of a system, and to lower the total DC resistance.

STMicroelectronics’ Single-Chip Balun for sub-1GHz Radio Practically Makes Antenna-Matching/Filtering Circuitry Disappear STMicroelectronics has introduced a matched balun for its S2-LP 868-927MHz low-power radio transceiver to help engineers save board space and minimize RF-circuit design challenges in size- and cost-conscious products like IoT sensors, smart meters, alarms, remotes, building automation, and industrial controls. The 3.26mm2 BALF-SPI2-01D3 integrates all the impedance-matching and filtering components needed to connect an antenna to the S2-LP radio, replacing a conventional network of 16 discrete capacitors and inductors that can occupy up to 100mm2 of board real- estate - a footprint reduction of more than 96%. In addition to saving space, circuit design is greatly simplified, with no need to select component values or tackle exacting layout challenges. Fully optimized for the S2-LP, the balun comes with placement and connection
