there is a discussion concerning the changing of the association’s name to the Indiana Correctional Association. The executive committee voted in favor of placing the proposed change on the agenda for the membership to consider at the annual meeting dated Sept. 24, 1965. In the report of the resolutions committee, chaired by James F. Harlow, the following resolution was presented: Whereas, be it resolved that the Indiana Probation and Parole Association be changed in name to the Indiana Correctional Association. The membership voted unani- mously in favor of the resolution. To reflect the various disciplines within the criminal justice system and the community that makes up the Indiana Correctional Association

unprecedented illegal drug epidemic, the acute toxicity of drugs, jail/pris- on overcrowding, sentencing reform and the high rate of children being placed in CPS because of parent’s drug usage or domestic violence. Indiana has drug courts, gun courts, family courts, domestic violence courts, mediation, child support courts, problem solving courts and traffic courts. Whatever the next round of courts will be or whatever is “the unknown,” ICJA will be close by to support the community to stay safe.

It enhances the cred- ibility of ICA and represents the various disciplines that make up the membership. The membership saw another change in the criminal justice field, and voted at the Oct. 8, 2010 annual meeting to change the name of the association to the Indiana Criminal Justice Association. Today, ICJA sees the future of corrections and the criminal justice system in Indiana going in a direc- tion of the unknown, due to the
