TIS THE SEASON HOLIDAY CRAFTS & TREATS A holiday festival for the whole family. Holiday arts and crafts, visit with Santa and treats. December 7 | 2-5 pm • Brown Recreation Center CANDLEFEST Enjoy holiday music, s’mores, and hot chocolate by the warm glow of 4,000 luminarias lining the walkways of the Greensboro Arboretum. Admission is free with donation of a non-perishable food item. December 7 | 6-9 pm • Greensboro Arboretum SHOWING THE LOVE EVENT Enjoy poetry basketball, cookies and other refreshments, face-painting and gifts. December 8 | 2-5 pm • Windsor Recreation Center WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA Volunteers place wreaths at veterans’ graves to show their gratitude and appreciation during the holiday season. PARADE The parade honors the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. January 20 | 11 am • Martin Luther King Jr. Drive BRIDGING THE TRIAD: BRIDGE BUILDING COMPETITION In celebration of National Engineer’s Month, residents from across the Triad compete to see who can create the most efficient popsicle stick bridge. Pick up your free supply kit at your local recreation center. All ages. February 1 | 10 am to 1 pm • Griffin Recreation Center BATTLE OF GUILFORD COURTHOUSE REENACTMENT Commemorate the 239th anniversary Battle of Guilford Courthouse Reenactment with more than 300 Revolutionary War reenactors from across the country. GREENSBORO YOUTH COUNCIL PRESENTS CAMILLE’S CLOSET & THEO’S THREADS Shopping days for teens in Guilford County and surrounding areas to get free formal wear and accessories. Donate your gently- used formal wear and accessories January 27 to February 28. Most needed are plus sized dresses, shoes and accessories.
