ProSteering ® PRO-­‐ACTIVE technical hotline An 800 phone number is set up for ProSteering customer to expedite suspect problems such as hard steering, loss of assist, or external leaking. Our answers are specifically based on OEM service manuals, bulletins, and specifications. The PRO-­‐ACTIVE section of this manual includes information and a step by step process to follow when a customer experiences a performance issue with their power steering system. In all cases, the first set of information to gather includes the following: Customer name Customer location Make, model, and year of the vehicle PSG part number purchased Verification of the PSG part number, julian date, and serial number stamped on the ID pad of the gear. Our Julian date and serial number format follows: YXXXXX Where the first digit (Y) equals the last digit of the year and the remaining characters (X) represent the serial number of this particular gear.
