As an industry leader in the telecommunications sector Windstream Communications provides voice and data services to both residential and commercial customers. Windstream’s switch facilities across the US house millions of dollars’ worth of valuable equipment. With significant investment in copper phone lines including 911 emergency services phone network, it’s vital these buildings are leak free to keep all equipment in proper working order. When one such facility experienced a leak following a major storm, Nations Roof with its expertise, turn-key commercial roofing solutions and 24/7 emergency response service, was called to the rescue. THE SITUATION On the afternoon of April 3, 2017, a small tornado swept through the town of Gordon, Georgia causing damage to local residences and commercial buildings. Windstream Communications suspected a leak following storm damage to their remote switch facility. Despite being only 1,500 square feet, it was vitally important to keep the 911 emergency phone system operational. As part of their Master Services agreement with CBRE, who managed the switch facility, Nations Roof was contacted by Windstream Communications to provide emergency repair services to fix the leak, Nations Roof did not disappoint with their ability to respond quickly, deploy a skilled roofing crew and avert disaster.
