The polarizers can also be configured for separating or combining polarizations across one or multiple wavelengths and can integrate additional optical functions such as HR/ AR coatings. Manufactured at LASER COMPONENTS’ facility in Olching, Germany, the polarizers use either ion-assisted deposition (IAD) or ion beam sputtering (IBS). Broadband monitoring during the coating process supports precise layer thickness control and reproducibility. For high-power applications, the thin-film polarizers are designed to provide a high laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT), enabling operation at high power densities. ■ Credit: LASER COMPONENTS Power Integrations Demonstrates World’s First 2200 V GaN Technology for Next-Generation High Voltage Power Systems

85039, while also meeting ASTM E-595 outgassing standards for spaceflight applications. SCBM Series devices incorporate fixed size 20 and size 8 contacts and support cable and wire crimp, solder, and PCB termination options. Rugged machined shells provide enhanced durability and resistance to shock and vibration in extreme operating environments. Power contacts within the connector series are rated up to 70A, supporting applications requiring high-current capability in compact connector configurations. Female closed-entry signal contacts utilize Positronic’s proprietary PosiBand® contact system, while size 20 contacts are engineered to meet demanding 40g performance requirements. SCBM series mixed-density Combo-D connectors for spaceflight and harsh environment applications now available through Powell Electronics The product family includes twenty-two connector variants ranging from 2WK2 through to 46W4 and supports shell sizes 1 through 6. By integrating multiple contact types into a single connector, the SCBM Series helps reduce system complexity, save space, and improve overall reliability. ■ For further information about Powell in Europe please visit: www.powell-europe.com ■ For project design or procurement support please contact: Europe@powell.com Thin-Film Polarizers for High-Power Laser Systems
Power Integrations has announced the industry’s first gallium nitride (GaN) technology rated at up to 2200 V, significantly extending the voltage range of commercially available GaN devices. According to the company, the new PowiGaN™ technology is designed for next-generation AI data centers, electric vehicles, renewable energy systems and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) infrastructure. The company says the new 2200 V technology provides the voltage margin required for emerging high-voltage power architectures while maintaining the high switching frequencies associated with GaN devices. Potential applications include future AI data centers adopting 1500 V power distribution, higher voltage EV battery and auxiliary power systems,
LASER COMPONENTS has expanded its offering of custom thin-film polarizers (TFPs) for high power laser applications in industrial and scientific systems. The polarizers are designed to separate laser beam polarizations by transmitting p-polarized light while reflecting s-polarized light, supporting beam quality and stability within the laser system.
