Laura Mays Laura Mays, Bluefield College graduate of 2021, now teaching English at Davidson Academy in Nashville, TN. Stephen J. McConnell Stephen J. McConnell is a writing instructor at New York University where he teaches storytelling and communication courses, and before that, was a newspaper reporter in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he is from. Mimi Merritt Mimi Merritt is a former Bluefield University communications professor who has published poems and essays in journals including Women Speak , an anthology of the Women of Appalachia Project, and The Bluestone Review . Hayley A. Moore Hayley A. Moore is a lover of all things related to grammar, dragons, foxes, and music. She currently resides at the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where she works as a proofreader and editor, writer, and composer after graduating from Bluefield University with a Bachelor’s of English (Writing) and General Music in 2020. Lenard D. Moore Lenard D. Moore is the author of Long Rain ; The Geography Of Jazz ; A Temple Looming ; Desert Storm: A Brief History ; Forever Home ; The Open Eye , among other books; editor of All The Songs We Sing ; One Window’s Light: A Collection of Haiku , and other books; and the first African-American president of the Haiku Society of America. Gabriella Nightingale Gabriella Nightingale works at the local hospital here in Wytheville, VA and finds poetry to be one of the most healing aspects of her life. Vivian Orea Vivian Orea is a high school junior who takes music lessons at Bluefield University. Violeta Orozco Violeta Orozco is the author of The Broken Woman Diaries and Stillness in the Land of Speed .
