The need to secure a win for Ulster tonight is apparent but the 25-year old lock appears impervious to this pressure and says that all emphasis for the squad this week has been on targeted preparation. “This is a massive game, it’s a crunch game, so we’ve just been working hard to make sure that we are well prepared. We’ve just been focusing on the things that really matter, all the key quality things and really narrowing in on those aspects in training in our mini units. We’ve been working in our threes and fours before and after sessions, making sure that we keep on top of those small things that make a big difference. With [Richard] Cockerill being their coach, he’s given a real edge to their game so we’re looking forward to the challenge of getting stuck in.” The ease with which the Ulstermen ran in tries against the Kings is unlikely to be replicated tonight against Richard Cockerill's men, but one can always hope. “Hopefully, we can bring the same sort of work rate and attitude around the pitch again. Obviously, you can have all the attitude in the world but if you’re not accurate with the ball and don’t hold onto the ball, it means absolutely nothing. “With the backs and the good set piece that we had last weekend and the same level of attacking play, we’ll be able to get some more tries tonight and hopefully get into the playoffs. If you start looking too far ahead then you’ll trip up on things that matter along the way, so we’re just taking every game as it comes, focusing on the week-to-week, day-to- day, to make sure we’re honed in on what actually matters.”
