MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

A big thank you to all of our customers for making our company great. Your dedication and cooperation makes our job so much easier. I am certainly proud of our customer care staff and enjoy reading and hearing praises about them. Any and all feedback is always appreciated. We’ve got many new proj- ects underway and more in store for you. We are offering a new line of quality heating products called Kozy Heat. Their products are made in their own manufacturing plant here in the United States, offering a variety of gas appliances and wood burning products. If you’re in a remodeling project or building, we still make house calls! Let us help you with brainstorming solutions and provide you an estimate. We converted M & M Store on Route 58 in Patrick County to our Circle K fam- ily. We’re striving to make updates that enhance your shopping experience. Please let us know what we can do to help you and your family. Our Ridgeway Circle K store in Henry County now has updated, “Super-Fast” diesel and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) pumps and will be accepting even more types of credit cards in the fall. We have expanded our truck parking for our fuel customers to spread out some. We added Krispy Krunchy Chicken to both of the stores. Quick fresh lunches and dinners and even catering. Stop by and try the delicious chicken, fish, shrimp and variety of sides. We still have our dependable services that have served us well over the years, such as our Clark Comfort Monitor and our Summer Tune Up program. CIRCLE K STORES UPDATE

Beyond our newly updated and rebranded, Circle K convenience stores, here are a few things we’re excited about in our convenience store business! We opened a new site! Our Critz Circle K, opened refreshed with a remodel in April 2019. We’re excited to offer a new twenty-four head fountain, Froster machine, coffee program including iced coffees and cappuccino machines, Krispy Krunchy Chicken, roller grill items, and new 24/7 diesel pumps. Beyond the store offerings, we are excited to employee seventeen new friendly team members with a new talented Store Manager!

We’ve installed new super high flow diesel pumps and DEF is available at the pumps at our Ridgeway Circle K store. We realize that time is money when it comes to pumping fuel and know our customers expect to pull into our station, fill their tank quickly and have the whole transaction completed efficiently.

ALL STORES We are selling locally made Elderberry Syrup by Heavenly Hill Honey located in Ararat, VA. Heavenly Hill owner, Michael Tatum has a rich history in beekeeping that goes back to his childhood helping his grandpa. Adding another healthy product to his business, Michael started making and selling Elderberry Syrup made with his bees’ honey! We are thrilled to distribute this product in all of our stores! Elderberry and its syrup derivative have been vastly explored as a natural remedy for various health conditions.

CG&O donated start up money for projects. Vice President, Anna is an AIR Facilitator. The Stuart Office is on the Patrick County Barn Quilt Trail. We enjoyed helping install the Trail HANDS & all have fun shopping at the Rise & Shine Market!

AIR is a series of workshops, programs, and tools and is the intellectual property of AIR Institute of Berea College. AIR programs merge the creativity of the arts with the innovation of business to raise the value of arts and creativity in communities. Virginia Tech saw value in this program and generously invested in the licencing of AIR Institute programs and training of facilitators as a valuable tool for boosting creative economies. The Reynolds Homestead, administered by Virginia Tech’s Office of Outreach and International Affairs, led the charge designated as the pilot project for AIR in the Commonwealth with the first AIR Shift Workshop in April of 2018. Clark Gas & Oil thrives on investing in outstanding local organizations and projects! One that is especially exciting for bringing vibrancy, creativity, and innovation to the Patrick County community is AIR!

AIR SHIFT WORKSHOP Facilitators lead small groups through exercises that produce hands-on experience in collaboration, planning, and challenging mental models about art, business, money, and community. It’s totally unique in bringing together emerging and professional creatives and business folks for a collaborative learning experience. Shift Workshop participants work together quickly to design and plan implementable projects for their community that focus on raising the value of arts and creativity. Projects have a one-year timeline and less than $10,000 budgets to ensure their local success.

2018 SHIFT WORKSHOP PROJECTS RISE AND SHINE MARKET

Rise and Shine Market is a youth-led market. It’s goal is to cultivate young Appalachian entrepreneurs (ages 8-18) and provide an inspiring and encouraging venue to showcase their talents and trades. The Rise and Shine Market brought a variety of youth entrepreneurs in its first year selling produce, handmade crafts, baked goods, and photography and will surely impress shoppers again this year. Go and be delighted - Jun 15, July 13, Aug 10 - 9AM - 12PM at the Stuart Farmers Market at 320 Chestnut Street in Stuart. www.facebook.com/riseandshinemarketPC PATRICK COUNTY BARN QUILT TRAIL The Patrick County Barn Quilt Trail was created to promote tourism in Patrick County and connect to surrounding barn quilt trail counties including Stokes and Henry. IF YOU THINK YOU SMELL PROPANE... 1. Extinguish all smoking material and any other open flames or sources of ignition. 2. Get everyone out of the building. 3. Turn off the gas using th shut-off valve on th tank. 4. Call Clark Gas & Oil or 911 from a neighbors home. 5. Stay outside and leave the gas off until the leak has been fixed. DO NOT... 1. Turn light switches, appliances or thermostats on or off, and do not use the telephone (this includes your cell phone). A spark from one of these could ignite the gas. 2. Light or try to re-light any appliances. Leave this job to Clark Gas & Oil. 3. Re-enter the building, until the problem has been corrected.

Propane Safety is Our Number One Priority! Although propane is one of the safest ways to provide energy to your home or business, you must observe some safety precautions: 1. Never store or use propane gas cylinders larger than one pound for heaters, stoves, dryers, or other appli- ances, inside your house or garage. 2. Never leave propane gas cylinders in your car’s cargo or passenger area on a hot day. 3. Never use a generator in an unventilated area. 4. If you smell propane, leave the area immediately. Do Not cut on/off any lights Do Not use the phone in th area (including cell phones) DO CALL 911 for help from outside the home.

Seasons should be determined by the weather, not by your heating and cooling bills. Our solution for you is the Level Pay Plan. No need to dread coming home to a fuel invoice at your door. Enjoy the consistency of one even payment each month. If you sign up for E-Pay, there is a money saving feature of a 3% credit on all monthly payments after the 12th month’s payment. When you sign up for Level Pay Plan, we will average your last twelve months of fuel costs and estimate your monthly payment amount. If you are new to Clark Gas and Oil, we will estimate your future usage based on the appliances that you have in your home or business. We keep an eye on our Level Pay customer accounts in case you have changes in your life that require an energy change and adjust your payment amount accordingly. If you choose the E-Pay option, we will draft your payment each month from the account of your choice – checking or credit card. Payments are drafted on the 15th of each month. After 12 months of on-time payments, you will receive a 3% credit to your Clark Gas & Oil account.
