The CTS division of Northwest State Community College is committed to providing both individuals and organizations a competitive advantage through hands-on learning about the latest tools, techniques and best practices in all industries. CTS provides training and consultative solutions to companies in the areas of advanced manufacturing, computer applications and programming, safety and leadership, industrial automation and maintenance. CTS is a leader in the development and implementation of innovative learning programs for K-12 students. In a collaborative effort with Putnam County Economic Development and Putnam County Job & Family Services the first northwest Ohio State Registered High-School Pre-Apprenticeship program was launched for the 2021-2022 school year. CTS has the unique ability to transport industrial trainers to any local K-12, community agencies, and local businesses in order to provide both career exploration and technical skills training leading to in-demand Industry Recognized Credentials. With the support of faculty and the NSCC STEM department, CTS works with many local organizations to upskill individuals and assist in obtaining employment. Currently, NSCC sponsors 24 companies with a total of 12 registered apprenticeship programs. Being a sponsor for companies in Northwest Ohio allows manufacturing employers that do not have the resources or bandwidth to sponsor their own programs to create and implement Registered Apprenticeship Programs leaving the paperwork and responsibility with Northwest State. Having this capability and experience only adds to the legitimacy of being recognized as a Standards Recognition Entity. For more information on CTS, visit TrainwithCTS.com. As we install new automated equipment on the manufacturing floor our maintenance technicians need to be constantly upskilled.
