- Williams -v- Harris (the valuation of a retiring partner's interest on the dissolution of a partner- ship). - Barber -v- Burke (whether a yacht is a " s h i p ", requiring registration on transfer, pursuant to Section 99 of Companies Act, 1963). - Stafford -v- Roadstone Ltd. (what constitutes such intensification of use as to amount to a change of use under the Planning Acts). - Monaghan U.D.C. -v- Alf-a-bet Promotions Ltd. (The requirements for advertising an application for planning permission). The preface to this publication expresses the hope to publish other volumes in the " I . L . R . M ." series for particular early years or groups of years, which is a welcome assurance. However, one must comment that there is, in the publishing of this volume, an oblique criticism of the Irish Council for Law Reporting, which publishes the "Irish Reports". It has always been regrettable that financial constraints over the years have prevented the permanent reporting of all the reserved judgments of the High Court and the Supreme Court. For that reason the Bar has had to rely on the (fallible!) communal memory of the Law Library and of judges themselves to maintain and adequate ' book' of Irish precedents. To conclude on a positive note, it is understood that the publishers of the "Irish Reports" intend in the future to publish two volumes per year. This should increase considerably the number of reported cases. In so far as the activities of Round Hall Press have encouraged that development, they deserve our thanks. Michael V. O'Mahony
