The Epsilon Gamma chapter of Gamma Ph_i Beta has made the 2000-2001 academi c yea r one of its bes t ever. With the start of classes in the fall, so too began a most memorable semes ter. First there was the exemplifica ti on ofsisterhood by means of a relaxing and growth-inducing retreat in lovely Palm Springs. The retrea t includ ed community service projects as well s bonding and affirma tion exercises. The sis ters of Gamma Phi Beta treasure the time they spend with each other during these special biannual retrea ts. On the social sid e, Gamma Phi enjoyed an ecxhange with SDSU as well as our trademark celebra tion with USD's Sigma Chi fraterruty, Italian Wedding. We also had a wond erful time accompanying USD's Sigma Phi Epsilon fra ternity to Los Angeles for a day to pa rticipa te in theaudienc of "The Price is Right." Members of both orga niza tions were part of the show! Gamma Phi dedica tion revea led itself through a fun and accomplishing Greek Week of which we, along with Sigm a Phi Epsilon, were the champions! Mos t importantly, however, we had an excellent time pa rticipating in the Week with the entire Creek Sys tem and an impressive amount of money was raised for charity. To top it all off, Gamma Phi Be ta was honored to maintain high representa tion.on USD's Homecoming Court w ith Chantelle Davis as Junior Princess, Marisa Huber as Queen and our nominee Billy Logan as King. Finally we fini shed the semes ter off with Crescent Ba!J, our bea utiful winter formal. Spring began with an outstandingRecruitment where we pleasurabl y wel– comed fifty-three new women into our order. Recruih11ent was quite an experience of hard wo rk culminahng with the rea liza tionof all tha t we have ga ined as sisters together in Gamma Phi Beta. Our firs t all-house re trea t w ith the new members took place in beautiful Carlsbad where we relished in the opportw1_ity to get to knwo one another better.
