QED Wire Lines has been awarded the contract to supply an oil tempering heat treatment line to Baosteel Group Nantong Wire Products Co Ltd under the recent Shanghai Baohua International Tendering Co Ltd specification. This line is designed to produce top quality automotive valve spring wire. Key to the contract was QED’s environmentally friendly fluid bed tempering furnace, said to be a “major improvement” over lead furnaces. Combining robust construction with advanced control, QED engineers have developed a special pulse-fired combustion system to provide excellent temperature uniformity to its muffle tube austinitizing furnace.
