PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Spring has finally arrived at Greystone! I hope you were able to attend our Easter festivities. The first Greystone Egg Drop was a huge success. We had hundreds of kids get an up close look at the helicopter and then chase the eggs on the driving range. We even learned a few things from our first event, such as keep the beverage tents away from the downdraft

The Greystone Pool will open in May and I know Andy Gray and his team have a great Memorial Day event planned with food and music for all ages. The pool had some major repairs during the off season and will be in the best condition ever as we head into summer. Our tennis program continues to grow thanks to Ryen Valentine and the professionals he has put together to serve our members. Save the date for Wimbledon on the Founders Range on June 21. Our youth programs continue to grow at Greystone. We will have our summer camps coming up as well as events planned for our junior golfers. Please be on the lookout for these and take advantage of the opportunities to get your children involved in the swim, tennis and golf events. The Greystone Gators will be competing in the swim league and I am sure they will have another very successful season. I know Andy and the coaches have been recruiting, so if you have a child interested in our swim team, please let us know. June will also bring another major club golf event, the Greystone Member Member. I am looking for a new partner, so if you are available, please let me know (only kidding Jay!). If you are a new member and want to play, please contact our golf pros and they will help you find a partner. This is a great way to meet and develop friendships with other members. The Greystone Board of Directors released a financial update as we closed out our first quarter. I want to commend Dave Porter and his staff for their efforts in managing our finances and keeping us on track to meet our 2018 budget. I do want to recognize our event team for booking 13 weddings, by last count, for 2018. This is a great revenue source for our club. Inform your friends and family that Greystone is an outstanding venue to host a wedding and reception. I want to thank our board, committee chairs and committee members for their commitment to Greystone. All committees met monthly through April as we wanted regular input and ideas on what we can do to improve the member experience at Greystone. These groups gave us great input and will continue to do so throughout the year. I appreciate all of you. I also want to thank all of our membership for your support and your feedback. I’ve heard from many of you and all of your comments and suggestions are welcomed. We have a great membership and all of us love Greystone. I look forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming events! of the helicopter! Our staff and even a few members had quite a time holding the tents down. All of this added to the fun and I know my family, especially the grands had a great time. Our Easter Brunch was a huge success with over 500 people being served. The food and service was excellent as we had buffets set up in the Foyer and the Cellar. Cellar 91, the Chef’s Dinners and the Sunday Brunches are still drawing great crowds. I encourage you to take advantage of all your club offers in this area. Our chefs and servers are working very hard to make sure you have a great experience. Our golf courses are now getting green and thanks to Jason Miller and his staff, the courses are in great shape as we get ready to have some of our great golf events. Our staff did a tremendous job with the SEC Women’s Championship and the Men’s Member Guest. Congratulations to the Arkansas Razorbacks and Member Gene Townley and his guest. Our Ladies Golf Association will be hosting the Tillie Bailey Tournament to raise money for cancer research. I know we will have a great turnout for this event to honor the memory of Tillie. Mark your calendars for this event, June 3-4. Mother’s Day is always huge at Greystone and I hope you make your reservations early as Chef Alan and his team will have a great brunch planned to honor our mothers on May 13. The following week is the Regions Tradition and we will have a tremendous field playing in this PGA Tour Champions major. Our new ticket packages were well received and approximately 80% opted for the VIP package that includes the 9th green viewing deck. We have some great activities planned for our members during this event and I hope everyone gets out to support the tournament as we raise money for Children’s of Alabama. Most, if not all of us, have had an opportunity to use this great medical facility and this event raises the money necessary so no child is ever turned away when care is needed.
