2.2.3 Solution proposal C This proposal will be about the checking for uncleanness of contacts at the start of the process. However, the time of the contacts checking must be also counted into the total process time, there are operations like operations like relay blowing and checking (control) under a camera, which brings higher time savings – from 3 to 5 seconds per 1 pc of relay. This means, that for 105 pcs it can be up to 525 seconds. If the pre-checking operation is introduced then the total process time will be shortened: 32,445 – 525 = 31,920 seconds. The overall benefit of case solution C in the process is a 1.61% improvement. The proposal does not bring much improvement itself, but if it is combined with proposal A or B, the solution would be acceptable. 2.2.4 Solution proposal of combination A and C This proposal is a combination of proposal A, sorting the contacts at the beginning of the process and subsequently removing the alignment and proposal C, checking for uncleanness of contacts before the process. The total improvement of the process will be: 29,292 – 525 = 28,767 seconds. This combination of A and C solution proposal will result in a process improvement of 11.34% . The combination offers a better choice than the proposal solution separately. 2.2.5 Solution proposal of combination B and C The last proposal solution is a combination of proposal B, the alignment of a robot and proposal C, checking for uncleanness of contacts before the process. The total improvement of the process will be: 31,350 – 525 = 30,825 seconds. This combination of A and C solution proposal will result in a process improvement of 4.99% . This combination also offers a better choice than the proposal solution separately. 3. Conclusion Several design options have been proposed to improve performance at the relay assembly workstation and the general comparison is in Figure 2. In order to find out which design is the best and meets the company’s requirements, we need to make a comparison with several other factors. However the total production time is important criterion, but the complexity of the workstation and the money spent on changing the process must also be respected (Malindžák, 1997).
