Results The study was implemented in Visual PROMETHEE software. The Gaussian preference functions with σ equal to standard deviation of the values for each criterion were used. Based on the analysis of the frequency of occurrence of individual SDGs, it can be stated that companies declare worldwide that their activities help in particular to achieve the following SDGs: 8 Decent work and economic growth, 13 Climate action, 3 Good health and well-being, 5 Gender equality, and 12 Responsible consumption and production. On the contrary, the following SDGs followed the least often: 2 Zero hunger, 14 Life below water, 1 No poverty, 15 Life on land, and 7 Affordable and clean energy. The European companies most often prefer to follow SDGs no. 8, 12, 5, 13, and 3. On the other hand, SDGs no. 2, 14, 1, 15, 7 are followed the least often. This shows that the two sets of SDGs for the world and Europe are identical, but the order of priorities is different. Figure 2 shows the GAIA plane for studied input data (the zoomed figure can be found in Figure 3). Visual PROMETHEE software provides information about quality of the GAIA projection (i.e., how much information has been preserved after application of the PCA method). This measure for our example is equal to 83.6%, which guarantees reliable results, see Greco et al. (2016). The studied continents (alternatives) are located quite far apart. This means that they tend to follow different SDGs (criteria). Some similarity can be seen in European and American companies. On the other hand, the Asian and African companies have completely different preferences in comparison with the European and American companies. The blue vectors represent the SDGs. If SDGs vectors lie approximately in the continent’s direction, then the companies from that continent follow just these SDGs. On the contrary, if they point in the opposite direction, they are given less attention on the continent. The longer the vector is, the more discriminating DSG (the circle in Figure 3 helps readers to compare the length of the vectors). For instance, SDG 17 Asia
