Measurement of load spectra on polygon Tatra Kopřivnice and the VW EWP polygon in Wolfsburg were performed not only for determining wheel forces and torques for solving of bearing problems, but also for analyzing the bolt stress of the Škoda Fabia engine bed. At the same time, the problem of engine support of the Škoda Roomster was also solved. We also encountered bearing calculations in the case of a variant design of a 4x4 axle differential. Here, in addition to bearings also hypoid gears and shafts were calculated. Of course, the lifetime calculations (Nemcek, 2018) were also performed (Fig. 8).

Source: Own elaboration In connection with the rolling bearing tasks, we have also developed a method for measuring the frictional moment of the axle bearing assembly for Škoda. 4. Working on gearboxes Research in the field of automotive transmissions is carried out at the department of Machine Parts and Mechanisms at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava in cooperation with the department of gearbox development of Škoda Auto Mladá Boleslav and since 2005 also within the involvement of the Josef Božek Research Center of Automobiles and Internal Combustion Engines at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Some outputs from long-term cooperation with a.s. Škoda Auto in the area of gears: • deformation tests of SK14 and SK 14H gearboxes for the Škoda Felicia • optimization of gear modifications for SK14 and SK14H gearboxes • verification of the influence of the accuracy of the gear wheels on the noise of the SK14H gearbox • deformation tests of MQ200 gearbox in aluminum and magnesium version for Škoda Fabia • deformation tests of MQ200 and MQ250 gearboxes and designs of gear modifications according to the results of these tests • experimental assessment of permanent engagement gearing of MQ200 based on noise and vibration measurement and transmission error measurement
