ODIN ™ EM&I’sDiverlessUWILD The IndustryChallenge that theEM&I Group have successfully resolved With an increasing number of FloatingOffshore Installations (FOIs) now operating on station indeepwaters for extended periods of 25 years ormore, EM&I have developed a complete package of services that helpsOperators stay out of drydockwhile optimising safety and complyingwith regulatory and class requirements. One such innovative solution isODIN, a newapproach tomeeting the requirements of underwater hull inspections. ODIN™ is part of EM&I’s ‘NoDrydock…Safely’ service packageand allows theUWILD (Underwater Inspection inLieu of Drydocking) requirement tobe fulfilled without divers or work-classROVs, benefittingOperators bymajor cost and risk reduction, while delivering complianceandhighquality integrity data.

ODIN™delivers the followingbenefits; • ReducedHSE risk

• Reduced cost • ReducedPOB

• Improved information quality •Minimal weather dependency and operational disruption • Extended time on station •Applicable toFPSOs, FLNG units, MODUs, mooring systems, process plant, drill ships and trading ships

TheEM&I diverlessmethodology, ODIN, has been implementedon twoABS classed FPSOs offshoreBrazil andhas been accepted by the othermajor Classification societies. ODIN uses advancedmethods to plan and carry out the required structural, isolation valves andother required inspections from inside the hull. Sea chests and isolation valves are inspectedusing camera insertion

equipment developed byEM&I. TheODIN approach reducesPOBanddiver intervention thereby improving safety, reducing costs and obtainingbetter quality data. ODIN canbe alignedwith theHull Continuous Survey programmewhichmeans that the UWILD costs are spread over a 5 year period, leading to reduced costs andminimal operational disruption.
