Welcome to the January/February edition of College News , which now enjoys a distribution to nearly 15,000 people. The ensuing examples

of faculty, student, and alumni accolades bridge the end of 2017 and the start of 2018. A sampling of highlights includes Art and Design’s participation in Pledges of Allegiance , a nationwide public art project (p. 3), a $200,000 grant earned by Communication Studies faculty devoted to health communication research (p.7), a detailed account of Dance’s Common Experience concert In Search of Mercy (p.9), student and faculty involvement in the Winter Olympics (pp. 10-11), multiple Music alumni winning Educator of the Year awards (pp. 12- 13), and theatre earning a #4 best production award as well as their M.F.A. Directing program being one of ten featured in American Theatre magazine (pp. 14-16). Alumni, please send us your updates.
