UCA Structure and Governmental Procedures

x Electing a Facilitator of the UCA o Facilitation of the UCA will transition from one pastor to another every two years. This period can be as short as one year if the association or facilitator deems it necessary. o The pastor can only be elected if he/she volunteers for the position. o The UCA facilitator will be elected through unanimous vote only. x Responsibility of Facilitator o The facilitator will faithfully uphold the commitments of the UCA and will strive to grow and maintain the health of the UCA. o The facilitator will faithfully attend each gathering. (If an emergency should occur he/she will be responsible for temporarily passing on facilitation of the group.) x UCA’s commitment to the Facilitator o The UCA will faithfully support and follow the lead of the facilitator. o Major decisions regarding the UCA and its initiatives cannot be made by the facilitator alone but must be put to a vote by the members for approval. Any changes that are made must be unanimous to uphold the unity of the UCA. o If a facilitator is failing in faithfulness (to commitments, leadership, or is abusing authority) the members of the UCA can call a vote to remove that pastor from his/her role of authority. o If any areas of theology of vision threatens to break unity of the UCA, the UCA will gather together to discuss as to set forward a decision regarding the disagreement. This should be avoided if possible as the heart of the UCA should be unity before personal preference.
