e. The opposite of Evaluation is providing no feedback on performance or progress.

f. The result of having no evaluation is little or no improvement in performance or team play.

4. The Golden Key: Offer feedback generously to all members individually, and as a whole.

J. Modify your team strategy and performance based on your analysis of the situation: The Principle of ADAPTATION.

1. Key Scripture: 2 Tim. 3.16-17

2. Definition of the Concept

a. “To be sensitive toward and responsive to new and/or changing circumstances, environments, or contexts”

b. To be adaptable is to be willing to “audible,” i.e., to be open to adjust one’s plans in response to new situations, and a readiness to modify or tailor the team’s actions according to the needs of the current, particular setting and population.

3. The Principle Explained

a. Adaptation is openness to change.

b. It produces a fluidity and dynamism that slavish commitment to plan or past may inhibit and overshadow.

c. To adapt means that you are willing to give up loyalty to bad strategy, and allows for maximum ability to change for the sake of wiser, more effective action.

d. What Adaptation suggests and demands

(1) Wide range of modification in team action, from a modest adjustment of a particular play, to a wholesale change in strategy and game plan

(2) Either wholesale or modest change, depending on what is determined to be of critical importance
