Immaculate condition results in a successful sale After local farming family retire

Auctioneers Brown & Co. held a machinery sale on behalf of Pete Medlam following his retirement. The sale was held on Thursday the 8th October 2015 at North House Farm, Carlton in Lindrick, Worksop where the Medlam Family have farmed for over 60 years. The opportunity to purchase extremely well looked after machinery and implements brought in a large crowd of buyers from across the UK. There was a large variety in the sale; giving buyers the opportunity to purchase specialist workshop equipment to quality second hand tractors and combine harvester. Lots which proved to be of interest to the buyers were a 1996 John Deere 2056 Combine with just under 3000 hours on the clock which was sold to a UK bidder for £18,600. The tractors on offer on the day were both in immaculate condition and it reflected in their sale prices. The first a 2011 John Deere 7730 with 1,913 hours attracted a lot of competitive bidding and

eventually sold to a UK bidder for £39,200. Its partner a 2000 John Deere 7710 despite having 8,253 hours on the clock was in popular demand selling for £20,300. Further lots which were of interest throughout the day included a 1995 Merlo P27.7-Evn Tele-handler which was sold to a bidder from the Isle of Wight for £12,100. The John Deere 732 trailed sprayer also sold for £10,400. Brown & Co. auctioneer James Walton of the firms Brigg office who was conducting the sale commented “The sale was a great success running smoothly from start to finish with some fantastic prices being obtained for the well looked after machinery. The sale attracted a great crowd of buyers from all over the UK with lots traveling back to their new homes as far afield as the Isle of Wight. It was a pleasure to organise such a successful sale which has signalled the end of an era for the Medlam Family.”
