19 FRESHMAN (2005): Made one appearance in relief for the Toreros, striking out one batter while allowing two hits, and one run in one inning of work. HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana... Three-year letterman on a Jesuit team that won a Louisiana State Cham– pionship as a sophomore... Helped Jesuit to the state finals as a senior. .. Coached by Dave Moreau as a prep. PERSONAL: Born May 9, 1985 in New Orleans to parents Jack and Mary Sue Roniger... Was also recruited to play baseball at Pepperdine and Southeastern Louisiana... Chose USO for the location, excellent academ- ics and athletics.

24 SOPHOMORE (2005): Had an outstanding sophomore season...unanimous selection for AII-WCC First Team honors...went on a 19-game hilting streak (April 3-May 8), best for any player in the wee in 2005... led San Diego in batting average (. 352), multiple RBI games (12), runs (46), stolen bases (15) and slugging % (.538), tied for the team-lead in RBIs (42) and walks (36).. .led the wee in batting average (. 398) during league play... utilized primarily in right field (33 games) but also started 20 games as the Torero centerfielder... hit in the 5th spot in the USO order 19 times, moving into the third spot towards the end of the season ...went on a tear late in the year, going 27-for-52 (.519 BA) during an 11-game span in the month of April. . enjoyed 10 multi-hit games in 11 outings during that stretch...hit six doubles in four games (April 15-19)...went 7-for-15 (.467 BA) with four RBIs and five runs scored to lead USO to a series win over then-No. 29 Pepperdine in mid– April. .. helped the Toreros win a critical league series at Gonzaga late in the season , going 5-for-11 with two doubles and a homerun... hit six homeruns on the season , second-best for any Torero in 2005. FRESHMAN (2004) : Made 14 starts (nine as the DH , five in right field ) .. Hit a towering two-run homer against Santa Clara (4-10-04) that allowed USO to sweep a doubleheader and the three-game series with the Broncos .. Enjoyed a pair of games in which he totaled three-hits, the first coming in his second collegiate start vs. UC Riverside (3-31-04) and later against St. Mary's (5-21-04)... Went 3-for-3 during that game with St. Mary's, scoring, driving in a run and stealing a base... Hit safely in three straight games in May, helping USO win 15 of its last 17 contests... Totaled 49 at-bats on the year in 23 appearances. HIGH SCHOOL: Hit eight homers and posted a .440 batting average while playing for California High School as a prep senior... Twice named an All-East Bay Athletic League player as a prep... Honored as an All-State selection following his senior campaign ... Led California High to the league champion– ship as a junior batting .500 and hitting six homeruns... During that same year, Buschini took California into the sectional semi-finals, helping Cal High finish with a record of 22-4... Twice mentioned as an all-area player... Was named the South Bay Player of the Year in 2004 after batting .423 and leading the Trojans into postseason play... Also honored as a First Team All-South Bay performer as a senior and junior... Hit .483 as during his junior campaign .. Led all South Bay players in a number of offensive categories during his prep career spanning three award-winning seasons...
