The Berkshire College of Agriculture

Find us in the FOOD AND FARMING ZONE

Over the last few years, The Newbury and District Agricultural Society have built up a strong relationship with the Berkshire College of Agriculture, providing valuable experience for the students on their journeys into their professions. Over the show weekend we offer a range of different positions allowing every student the opportunity to gain an insight into the work field they’re interested in. Many Equine and Animal Management students take on stewarding roles in the Livestock and Horse sections, whereas Media Production and Performing Arts students have the opportunity to work closely with the Communications Department, taking on photography tasks and interviewing exhibitors and competitors.

The Berkshire College of Agriculture is an agricultural college based in Maidenhead and has 400 acres of farm land, with residential accommodation. It was formed in 1949 as the Berkshire Institute of Agriculture and was originally built to provide a training centre for agricultural workers. It has since expended to offer work with animals and construction. If you’re interested in a career in agriculture, visit the BCA team at their stand, located in the Food and Farming Zone.
