D onnington Grove Veterinary Group’s Small Animal department has three branches. Our main surgery at Donnington is an RCVS accredited Small Animal Hospital and our two branches in Thatcham and Tadley are RCVS accredited General Practices. The RCVS Practice Standards is an accreditation program that means that we have been through a rigorous inspection process to ensure we meet the highest of standards. Donnington Grove is one of a few remaining independent veterinary practices in Berkshire, meaning we do not outsource our out-of-hours care. Our regular Vets and Nurses are on call 24/7 and your pet is hospitalised on site at Donnington. Our committed team and extensive facilities mean that a comprehensive range of veterinary services is always available - from routine vaccinations and worming advice through to more complex imaging facilities. We also have our own in-house laboratory and our Vets are proficient in carrying out advanced surgical and medical procedures. We have a large number of very experienced Vets, including certificate holders in Surgery, Medicine and Ophthalmology. This means that we have a greater level of expertise and are able to carry out more advanced procedures than your average first opinion practice. When you arrive, our experienced and friendly reception staff will greet you and ask you to take a seat in our waiting area which has been designed to offer separate seating areas for cats and dogs. You will be called into one of our three consulting rooms where you will speak with our Vets and Registered Nurses. Beyond the consulting rooms we have a sterile operating theatre with two operating tables, a separate area for non-sterile procedures and hospitalisation facilities for all types of animals. We have extensive diagnostic facilities for small animals, which include: radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and blood pressure measurement and we are very proud of our on- site professional laboratory where we produce test results on-site and mostly on the same day. In addition to this, we are fortunate to have a dermatology referral service on-site for animals with difficult skin problems as well as an ECG Cardiac Investigation Consultant. Our Nurses run free weight clinics to assist in achieving the best health for your dogs and cats, as well as geriatric and dental clinics. We can advise you on how much to feed and discuss tips to avoid extra food intake, as well as many other preventative health issues and advice.
