Then he was promoted to the position of maître at the Hotel Riu Obelisco. In this job he showed his capacity tomanage teams, a skill that subsequently led him to travel to train staff at the group’s new hotels. Munar felt that the chance to followRIU to the Canary Islands in 1985 was a great opportunity. For him, as well as the chain, that was his first trip out of the Balearic Islands.

Munar vivió como una gran opor- tunidad la oferta para seguir a RIU hasta las Islas Canarias en 1985. Para él, igual que para la cadena, aquel fue su primer viaje fuera de las Islas Baleares.
