Jim McPhee, will be presiding. This is where we elect the leadership of our Administrative Council and Board of Trustees, look at our financials and membership rolls, and hear updates from our various ministries. Join us to hear about where we are and where God is calling us together. Youth Christmas Musical— This year, our children and youth will be putting on a Christmas musical! Details are still in the works, but look for rehearsals to start in late November, following Sunday worship. There will be parts available for all ages and abilities. Interested? Guatemala Service Trip— Four persons are going on the next Guatemala service trip: Laura Hamilton, Wyatt Englund, Christine Englund, and Polly Wentworth. Linda Brewster is leading this trip, scheduled for February 23 to March 3. The application deadline is November 23, available on their website: guatemalagrace.org. The cost is approximately $2,000. Interested? Talk to PollyWentworth or Melissa Yosua-Davis for more information. October’s dinner was a wonderful success, raising nearly a quarter of their fundraising goal. We’re continuing to help with fundraising efforts: look for a breakfast/brunch to happen sometime in November! “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” Screening Saturday November 17— Join us for worship during the month of November as we explore together the lessons many of us learned from Mr. Rogers and how they relate to a life of faith. As part of the series, we’ll be watching “Won’t You Be My Neighbor,” the Fred Rogers documentary that was released earlier this year, on Saturday November 17 at 5:00 p.m. Bring a potluck dish to share, and we’ll eat and watch the movie together in the Parish House, followed by a time for discussion. Harvest Baskets for the Food Pantry— Thank you to everyone who helped fill our shelves and our Food Pantry Fund these past couple of months. We appreciate your generosity in helping eliminate food insecurity on this island. This month, we’re decorating our sanctuary space with food pantry baskets. Do you have an empty basket at your house? Fill it with goods for the island food pantry! Feel free to be creative, but here are a few suggestions: An after-school snack basket, a soup and crackers basket, a breakfast basket with cereals and English muffins. Drop off your basket in the sanctuary between November 1 and 15 so that they can be a part of our Thanksgiving distribution. Also, feel free to drop off nonperishable goods in the sanctuary. Online Giving— As you look at year-end giving, prayerfully consider adding CUMC to your list. We fund our ministries primarily through your gifts.
