The Wellness Center with Paula Favreau, RN, Is Open for Blood Draws, Blood Pressure Checks, PT/INR Testing, Medication Setup, Flu Shots, Dressing Changes, Suture Removal, Wellness Checks, and Health Information No appointment needed. No charge for these services. Tuesday November 13 & 27 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Missed the Flu Clinic? Not a problem! Paula has both types of flu vaccine at the Wellness Center.

By now you have probably seen the new steps going in at Schoolhouse Seconds. We are very excited to have this much needed project underway! Thank you to Council Board member Christine Auffant for managing all the details, all the wonderful Thrift Shop volunteers, all the fabulous donations, and everyone who shopped there this summer. The Thrift Shop is one of many amazing island institutions, and the Council is very happy to be able to help it continue. All the proceeds from Schoolhouse Seconds stay on the island and support Council programs that work to meet the community’s needs: whether it is Fuel Assistance, Food Assistance, health care, Schoolhouse Seconds, Chedemption, the Calendar , or community events like the 4 th of July Parade, your support makes it all possible. The annual Flu Clinic has come and gone, and lots of folks were able to take advantage of the chance to have Beth and Mac’s donuts and get a little preventive health care! We were able to offer both flu vaccines this year for the first time—the regular vaccine and the “high-dose” type recommended for people over age 65. If you couldn’t make it to the Flu Clinic, Nurse Paula will have both types of flu vaccine at the Wellness Center and you can stop in and see her November 13 or 27 between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. You will not, however, get a donut!
