CURRENT BUSINESS Activities –

Tom Huntley Tom advised that kids day generated $2483.00 in revenue and Big Smoke generated $1769.00 in revenue and July 4 weekend generated $400.00 in profit per Commodore Ian Blackburn. Ron Draper inquired if we currently have enough paid bartenders. Tom advises yes, however we need to address the issue of making sure they get enough tips. The board discussed and agreed that we should remind the members in the fan out to be sure to tip the bartenders and make announcements to the crowd during their shifts to be sure to tip the bartenders. John Sweier suggested we set up a base line for tips and have the club subsidize if we are short. It was agreed that we would put out the reminders and see how it works on Labor Day weekend and revise if needed.

Harbor & Grounds Tom Altobelli Tom advised the high water is creating issues in trying to keep the harbor safe. Several members requested pilings be added to the docks on the main land and he has accommodated their request. Tom has also contracted BP marine to put gravel between the sea wall and the parking lot on the mainland. Tom Stackpoole has volunteered to build risers on the docks on the mainland in order to compensate for the high water. Tom advised we have installed solar LED’s for the Harbor navigation lights. Tom reminds all members to be careful when walking on the docks. With water continuing to rise the dock boards are warping and creating potential trip hazards.

Tom also advised that 13 bait boxes were put out on the island to prevent rodent issues and that he suspects we may have several minks on the island.
