ENSURING SAFE USE OF THE MIXER

 Always make sure the fixed guard is in place before turning on the equipment.  Never put your hands or utensils into the mixer when it is running to scrape mixture it can get tangled in the spindle and injury is likely.  Table top portable domestic mixers do not have guards but the above rules still apply.  Always have long hair tied back to prevent entanglement  Never use the machine with loose clothing.

ENSURING ELECTRICAL SAFETY

 Our Company will ensure that all portable electrical equipment is formally tested by a qualified electrician on a regular basis.  We all have a responsibility to make sure that the equipment looks safe before you use it and not to use if it looks damaged.  Check that the outer covering of the cable is not cut or shows signs of burning  Check the plug to ensure it is not damaged or that the coloured internal wires are showing where the plug meets the lead.  Check that no body has taped a joint in the cable  Check the electric socket for damage before you plug it in. It should not be cracked or wobble about in the wall.  Remember report any defects to your manager.
