THE GLASS WASH MACHINE

PURPOSE OF THE TRAINING EXERCISE: To ensure the team members understand the importance of keeping the glass wash machine clean

TRAINING AIDS:  Company approved manual pot wash detergent, sanitiser and multi-purpose detergent  Clean green cloth or paper towels  PPE – Rubber gloves or disposable white gloves and apron

Training Method: This is a practical training exercise. The trainer should demonstrate how to clean the Glass washer to the group whilst referring to these training notes.

EXPLAIN TO THE GROUP: To serve our products in tip top condition and in clean glasses it is essential that we have an efficient and clean glass wash machine, that is both regularly maintained, cleaned and sanitised. Always ensure the machine has an ample supply of Company nominated chemicals in the machine and in stock ASK QUESTION TO GROUP: What will happen if we don’t clean our glass washer regularly? CONFIRM CORRECT ANSWER:  Bacteria builds up, unclean glasses, machine breaks down

Cleaning the glass washer - Daily

EXPLAIN TO THE TEAM: Cleaning glass washers is a simple procedure, but one which is important to carry out on a regular basis, in order to maintain high performance. The glass washer should be cleaned on a daily basis following these simple rules:  Ensure machine is emptied and switched off  Remove filters and empty debris into waste bin  Wash filters in hot soapy manual pot wash detergent  Spray inside of machine, doors and sides with multi-purpose detergent and rinse.  Apply sanitiser solution and leave for one minute.  Replace filters  Leave door open to air dry machine
