SLUSH PUPPY MACHINE

PURPOSE OF THE TRAINING EXERCISE: To ensure the team members understand how to clean the Slush Puppy machine.

TRAINING AIDS:  Chemicals – Company approved sanitiser, manual pot wash detergent and multi- purpose detergent

 Clean green disposable cloth or paper towels  PPE – White disposable gloves and apron

TRAINING METHOD: This is a practical training exercise. The trainer should demonstrate how to clean the Slush Puppy Machine to the group whilst referring to these training notes

ASK QUESTION TO GROUP: Why is it important to clean the Slush Puppy machine after every use? CONFIRM CORRECT ANSWER:  Reduce the risk of cross contamination  To ensure the food is properly mixed  Improve the quality of the food  To ensure the mixer works effectively  Reduce the risk of fires  It is a legal requirement to keep all food equipment clean.

How to clean the Slush Puppy Machine - Daily:  Ensure machine is refilled prior to cleaning, leave machine switched on and clean all areas externally  Spray dispense nozzles, tanks, front and sides with sanitiser allow a 60 second contact time

 Wipe down with a clean green cloth, ensuring all debris has been removed  Remove the drip trays from the freezer and clean in hot soapy water  Replace trays once clean  Remove tank covers and wash in hot soapy water  Dry off with paper towel and replace  Spray sanitiser on all surfaces and handles leave for 60 seconds  Dry off the outside of the unit with paper towel
