CONFIRM CORRECT ANSWER:   Contact the first aider in the business  Explain that the guest may have anaphylaxis (ANNA-FILL-AXIS)  DON’T move the person because this could make their symptoms worse  Ask the guest (or friends and family who they are with) if they have adrenalin on them (they may have an Epipen/Jext/Anapen with them) – this could save their life. Ask if they have an SOS talisman or Medic Alert on them.  Stay with the guest until help arrives – if there is a first aider on site ask them to sit with theguest.  Inform other team members so the ambulance crew are shown to the correct location  Complete an incident report form EXPLAIN: Guests with food allergies protect themselves by carrying medication or wearing the Medic Alert/SOS Talisman bracelets or tags which they can use when they eat a food that causes a reaction. However, this is a last resort and their first priority is to avoid the food that causes the reaction. To do this, they need accurate information about the ingredients and the way it is prepared.

ASK: What are the key points to remember when checking in your delivery?  Check food deliveries thoroughly  Have you received what was ordered, is it the brand you normally use?  If it’s a substitute it may have different ingredients – have you been informed the item has been substituted?
